What vocal jazzer doesn't love "Centerpiece", from Lambert, Hendricks and Ross?! Tons of groups, over the years, have sung it as a swinging blues, but this arrangement goes somewhere else entirely, although a soulful feel is retained and accentuated. The groove is a straight-eighth funk-rock and the chords are all new.
